Do Not Overtake Cyclists sign and three-way lights

Works on the Fen Causeway crossing.

Cyclist bravely ignoring the Footway Closed Ahead sign, which does refer to cycling as well - there's quite a detour to the left due to works on the Fen Causeway crossing.

The on-road cycle lane has already been suspended - now cyclists on the shared-use path have to dismount as well.

Cycle Lane Ahead Suspended

[Image taken 13.8.23] Skeldergate, York. Context: #196556. I missed the diversion. Like all the cyclists coming in the other direction I pushed along the pavement. I can… not everyone can.

Cycle Lane Closed - cyclists are presumably meant to cross the road and wait at the temporary lights to get through the roadworks. Not very helpful.

[Image taken 1.7.23] Burton Stone Lane, York. (Looking southbound.) Actual road closure now visible. Context and links: #195918.

[Image taken 1.7.23] Burton Stone Lane, York. (Looking southbound.) Second warning sign of road closure and last chance to avoid it in a motor vehicle. However there were no diversion signs. Context and links: #195918.

This sounds rather over the top - there's nothing happening over the bank holiday weekend anyway.

Two new pedestrian/cycleways under construction - and a barrier moved to allow passage over the bank holiday weekend rather than having to cross the main road twice.

Temporary diversion during construction of a busway crossing.

New cycle/footways under construction

Temporary lights - totally unnecessary, except I think that they allow a pedestrian phase around the roadworks. By the time the light changed there were 15 to 20 bikes (and 1 trike) waiting.

[Image taken 21.05.23] Malton Road / New Lane, Huntington / York. [NOTE: No street view at this exact location] Context: #193945. As I was looking for the signage to see where/until which point/from which point people can cycle on this … [more]

Construction of a wider cycleway/greenway - at the moment all cyclists and pedestrians have to cross the main road twice to get past.

Cycleway under construction, with space taken from motor traffic.

Alternating traffic flows through roadworks - very long phases, and no real provision for pedestrians and cyclists crossing the road - just wait till the cars stop and rush across. But it looks as if there'll be a better cycleway when it's … [more]

This is Czech cycle route 4 (to the right past the cement truck) - but a span of the railway bridge is being rebuilt, so there may be a problem.

Romanian-style roadworks beneath the Corvin Castle, Hunedoara

Sensible signage, compared to #192641 at the other end.

Nonsense signage, again - traffic was passing both ways without problem.

Roadworks on Wright Street, and new housing.

Roadworks on CS8

It's all happening here - after these City Fibre works, Cambridge Water is going to close Grantchester St (and Bateman St too) for a couple of days.

Following the attempt to use temporary lights (#189852 and #189853) they've given up - not ideal for the walk to school.

Local traffic chaos due to parked cars blocking cars trying to pass queuing cars. Also no lights on Chedworth St, one light for both Grantchester St and Eltisley Avenue.

Local traffic chaos due to parked cars blocking cars trying to pass queuing cars. Also no lights on Chedworth St, one light for both Grantchester St and Eltisley Avenue.

This is what #189850 means by Access to Frontages Only - no problem for cycles or small cars

It looks as if the absolutely appalling stretch of broken road surface at the Station Road junction is getting some overnight attention.

Rush-hour queue in roadworks, Munich

No sign of activity for the last few days, but I think they're renewing the grippy surfacing.

Cycleway closed by roadworks, Graz

Cyclist obediently waiting at temporary traffic-lights, Liechtenstein

Water utility works at the north end of Grange Road - naturally cyclists can get past (although the puddles don't help).

Water utility works at the north end of Grange Road - urgent enough to close the road, not urgent enough to work on a Sunday. A shame the barriers were left blocking the cycle lanes, but of course cyclists were passing on the footways.

New cycle/pedestrian-friendly streetscape under construction, Vienna

Shared-use path unavailable on NCN route 3 in Hayle

Still no path connection from the Bredisholm Road M73 bridge to Calderbank Road, and no evidence one is going to be provided. A detour via the unsealed path next to the railway line is thus necessary.

I don't think the replacement Sighthill Bridge will be opening in "the early months of 2022". https://www.glasgow.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=27331

The Old Dumbarton Road cycleway still awaits completion of utility works before it can be completed itself.

Work in progress on the Stockingfield Bridge.

Short cut-off closed for roadworks

No idea why there are three bikes inside the roadworks outside Augsburg cathedral.

Roadworks - cycling is still allowed on the shared-use footway here.

Temporary end of shared-use path at roadworks - cyclists are directed down a decent enough ramp to the road.

Road works by Cambridge Water at the Station Road/Hills Road junction - luckily many people are working from home. It would be nice to think that the dreadful potholes will be properly fixed, but I'm not optimistic.
