Monsal Trail

Surfaced path around open space. Users prefer the direct line to the Rigler Road link. Good in theory, but a poor plan. There are low level LED lights in the tarmac. Drainage has also been a problem.

Newish shared path. The "End of Route" and "Cyclists Dismount" signs are inaccurate, since cycling is permitted to the north beyond those signs.

Good surface pathway connecting castle fields with New Bolsover /Carr Vale

The Lüneburger Heide (heath) cycleways are good for horse riding, not as great for long distance cycling. The hire bikes for the tourists tend to have wide tyres.

Underpass under the Oldenburg - Wilhelmshaven railway line for pedestrians and cyclists at Nedderend. It has old style obstructions at either end.

Hasty Lane: Once in the tunnel, however, the surface is much improved. This could be a valuable route if it were better taken care of.

Sula Lightship. Gloucester and Sharpness Canal.

The surface here doesn't look great but it's actually nice and smooth to ride on. You can get some good speed here.

The canal may be dry and derelict here but there's a useful surface that can be used all year round.

Yarwoodhead Lane forms part of a potential connection between the old (now bypassed) Chester Road, which is a quiet route with its own wide cycleway, and Altrincham. There is almost no traffic whatsoever on this road.
