This country lane (which happens to be NCN 1) has been designated a "40mph zone", despite being a normal country lane no different from any of the other lanes in the area. Drivers were remarkably deferential when I encountered them.

Start of the Côte d'Oughtibridge - one of the vicious climbs made famous when the Tour de France came to Yorkshire.
Excellent practice, making it clear the roadworks at Hagg [not Haggs] Bridge only block it to motor vehicles. Until this appeared cyclists had to go on for half a mile hoping they'd get through.
