Footpath to a car park, West Cambridge

Desire line towards the new Civil Engineering building - not surprising, as they've deliberately made cycle access really hard from the north/west.

New cycleway - part of the Cavendish III scheme?

The cycleway doesn't so much finish as revert to shared-use for a spell, for some reason.

Maybe the University of Cambridge is replacing its cycle stands, as well as the busway?

No dropped kerb - wheelchairs cannot get from the car park to the Civil Engineering building (there's a gazebo on the footway to the left).

The only way from the car park to the Civil Engineering building - with a No Cycling sign at the end

Why on earth are they so determined not to let people get through to the Civil Engineering building?

Poor stretch of path between the West Cambridge site and the Coton M11 bridge

Path from the Coton M11 bridge to the West Cambridge site - dropped kerb needed

Reasonable cycle parking on a dead-end route past Cambridge University's Civil Engineering building.

Full-width barrier, no dropped kerbs - Cambridge University's Civil Engineering department really doesn't want cyclists to arrive from the north.

Unusual cycle route sign - only allowed on private property.

New traffic calming on the West Cambridge site (and another being installed on the other side of the road)

Traffic calming being installed - it's fairly obvious, but when the signs say Road Closed, they don't include cyclists and pedestrians.

Cycle parking at the Nanoscience Centre, West Cambridge - visitors in the open and staff hidden to the right, presumably.

Cycleway past the Computer Lab, West Cambridge - a wider dropped kerb would help.

Dr Bike event for university staff at the West Cambridge site.

This isn't just a footway (or footpath), it's an important cycle route to Coton, and I think it's been closed for over a month - it would have been helpful to have the diversion via the Madingley Road signed. [now 3 months!]

Temporarily closed - a footpath I didn't know existed. With a dropped kerb and other improvements this would be a useful link to the M11 cycle bridge to Coton. [closed 2/11/20, still closed 15/2/21]

What a shame the cycleway wasn't raised and given priority over the car park access roads.

Mobile bike repair operation on the West Cambridge site. Great, but what a shame it's done by car instead of a cargo bike.

Strange that the British Antarctic Survey has nice new covered cycle parking but has done nothing to put in a dropped kerb or remove the barriers to Madingley Road.

Ramp for wheelchairs rather than cycles.

Covered cycle parking nowhere near any buildings. On a Sunday there were 4 bikes here.

Pedestrian-oriented plaza at High Cross

Segregated shared use sign - I suppose the trees and poles form the segregation, but it's not clear. I suppose this is not a public highway and the University can do what it wants.

Covered cycle parking and newly added tools at the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy, West Cambridge

Tiny shared use pathway along Madingley Road west of Conduit Head Road. Going to be very interesting when thousands of people are living in NW Cambridge site.
