The rack is still missing here, see #177377. This photo was used to file a report with highways reporitng on 12 Sept 2022, they replied 14th March 2023 saying it will be fixed within three years. Reference: 00401673 Date reported: … [more]
The bent rack has been removed following the report at #177377, the bikes that were on it have been stacked against the remaining rack.
Wonder why no-one is choosing to use this cycle rack 🤔 https://t.co/9yubQlPyaP Deangate, York They need protection with bollards like #176315 in Cambridge.
A bike rack has been bent almost completely flat against the ground. It looks like it was reversed into by a large van or truck, the bicycle attached to the rack was squashed in between. There are no bollards to protect the bikes / racks … [more]
My guess is that a vehicle has reversed crushing the bike against the rack and bending the rack completely over. The back wheel in particular looks like it has been pressed over the rack. The pedal crank is bent too, so quite a substantial … [more]
Parking spaces taken for cycle stands and car club parking. The bollards help reduce damage from motor vehicles like happened to #177672 in York.
Mock-up of a idea to improve access to the footway cycle parking. Motor vehicles often park right up or overhang the buildout and this creates problems of access to our front door as these other photos show: #6501 and #106944. The ramp … [more]

We have just moved into a first floor flat (no garden) and would like to park our three bikes securely on our street; Oglander Road SE15 4EN. A bike hangar would be really helpful and useful to us. All bike hangars around us are full and we … [more]

King Street cycle parking - it's build over a drain cover so there's space for bikes to park not against a stand.
Messy bike parking - the white bike looks like it has been used once and has been abandoned on these racks for about three weeks. For more info see: https://www.camcycle.org.uk/newsletters/145/nl145.pdf Page 22
When I think that a bike left for weeks at these racks has been abandoned then I turn it upside down. This was a Raleigh Chiltern, worth around £70: http://findthatbike.co.uk/search.php?searching=yes&s=chiltern
These racks are very heavily used and in their desperate need to park securely the bikes are being moved so that more bikes can be attached. The result looks very untidy and is not a great advertisement for more racks, which is what is … [more]
I applaud the Newnham Bakery taking over a parking space for cycle parking, but I wish they'd installed stands which actually support bikes - it's not that well used as a result.
It's really great to have new cycle parking in Romsey, but the workmanship on the installation is rather disappointing. The racks and bollards have been left covered with ugly dirt smears - which look to me like concrete dust. The ground … [more]

Newly installed racks on Argyle Street. I think the camber combined with the kerb will work well together to keep bikes tidily parked.
Two apparently dumped bikes that have been there for a few days. Certainly not in safe rideable condition and which have been reported to the city council abandoned bike service.
Unusual wheel holder seemingly fixed to the footway. The groove is a bit too wide and a bit too shallow for a typical cycle wheel, so perhaps this is for some of powered two-wheeler.
Thoday Street racks. City rangers have helpfully cleared away an abandoned bike that was looking a mess. I've now asked them to remove the two old locks that are attached to the rack.
Poorly parked cycles combined with the camber of the buildout means these bikes have spread onto the footway. The look untidy and cause an obstruction.
Boxbikes parked in the marked areas on Cavendish Road. Added this to sping 22 consultation: https://consultcambs.uk.engagementhq.com/parkingspring22/maps/parking-2022-discussion-map#marker-38728
The old cycle by-pass to the no entry is gone, but where are the Except Cycles plates? There's also quite a bit of unused footway space here that could accommodate street cycle parking.
Cycle parking continues to be heavily used during roofing works while there is scaffolding at our house.

Oh the anticipation! Loads of bikes parked overnight in the street and new racks are not yet available for public use.
A bicycle clings to a lamppost in a residential street where all the gardens seem to have become car parks.
Complete lack of cycle parking on the highway forces cyclists to do this sort of thing. The pavement is totally blocked. (The exact time and date shown were estimated.) Added to Spring 2022 consultation: … [more]
