This group walked in the carriageway of St. Barnabas Road rather than the icy footway. This was four days after the snow fall.
Scenic it may be but this is unacceptable for a major cycle route. Please can @CambsCC grit the Coton Cyclepath to the West Cambridge site? @camcycle https://t.co/SHi9Ji8PZw

Diagonal path across New Square (which is the main pedestrian route between the City Centre and the Grafton Centre) has not been gritted - but the lesser used footway at the side of the street called New Square has been treated.

@camcycle Loved my snowy commute this morning, though the bike was really difficult to manage on side roads. Riverside cycleway through Midsummer Common was gritted and somewhat ok to ride. https://t.co/y41CBg0lug

Right London. One good thing about the weather is it lets us see in *real life* how much space the traffic really uses. This is called a ‘Sneckdown’ Your mission - if you have a vantage point - is to send me all your Sneckdown photos for … [more]

Manchester Trafford Sale. Sidmouth Road. Residents build a barrier to motor traffic. Tracks show drivers taking illegally to the pavement . If a real filtered barrier was built it would need to exclude pavement driving as well .
Crossroads of St Austell Street, St Clement Street and Mitchell Hill looking towards Truro Cathedral in the snow.
A simple encapsulation of the contempt for people who walk or cycle; snow from roadway piled up at dropped kerb on shared use route. #DontBlockTheDrop https://t.co/Dfdk38HHNJ
No treatment of #SWCW yet, although mini-gritter was on pavement of St Andrews Rd as I passed. Will check on way home tonight. https://t.co/saBTHNxLdG

I've been out for a five hour cycle ride as the snow has been coming down on Manhattan. This is quite a good cycle route on the bank of the East River - much faster that having to stop at all the intersections with the streets.
A week since last snowfall, this pedestrian/cycle underpass at cowcaddens still covered in ice #glasgowcycleinfraday https://twitter.com/kennymunro/status/563448979267268608
Still in East Dunbartonshire, where they really care about pedestrians & cyclists. #glasgowcycleinfraday https://twitter.com/kennymunro/status/563447202950184963
The very straight dividing line here makes me think this is not due to gritting, perhaps a heated section because it is on a slight slope.
Designated cycleway with pedestrian walk. Compared to previous photo 2 years ago (see #42710), in this one added new concrete plates.

This cycleroute, a main route for kids going to school, remains ungritted. No wonder schools close with this kind of failure to manage our transport network.
I took this before the main snowfall. I suspect it would be virtually impassable with no gritting after that. Whilst it's great that Cambs County Council does grit some cyclepaths, because it doesn't cover bits like this it makes the whole … [more]

Cycle track is beautifully cleared of snow, compared to the road (with pinch point bollards) which is less looked after, and (far right) footpath which is poor.
