No gate here ! Because it's for drivers ! a cattle grid for the drivers . Drivers treated better than people on bikes or in wheelchairs. Compare all the other transitions which have gates which are hard to open and close along this route.

Haltwhistle NCN68 there are many gates on this route. What is there purpose ? As a railway line travel corridor there would have been no gates .
NCN 68 Lambley viaduct walkers (and cyclists access to proceed South requires leaving the trail via many steps and re-joining the path further South. Many users will be prohibited from proceeding further Wheelchair and other people with
Haltwhistle NCN 68 access point to trail path. There's no indication that this is an access path (bridleway to the road network). The name of the nearby farm may help as well.

Terrible provision on NCN routes 6 and 68 - a couple of signs, but nothing has been done about the barrier, and the only drop kerb is on the far side.
Slightly confusing - cyclists off the bridge rejoin the carriageway to the northeast, but also NCN routes 6 and 68 cross to the right to follow the river.
No Left Turn - there's actually a dropped kerb with cycle symbol immediately after the lights, which isn't very clever.
