The right turn here towards Cowhollow Wood is rendered hazardous by the combination of steep gradient, loose gravel, and uneven bricks.
Signs at the Jane Coston Bridge state: Route 11 is interrupted between Lode, Wicken and Ely, follow Route 51 to Bottisham. For NCN route 11 to Lode, Wicken and Ely, follow Route 51 to Bottisham.
Amazing potholes considering this is a dead-end for motor traffic - but it's a National Cycle Route and a vital route to Addenbrooke's, so let's hope it gets fixed.
There are potholes everywhere in what used to be a civilised city, but an added annoyance is the amount of gravel thrown out of them, especially on Trumpington Road.
Road giving way with lengthy longitudinal cracks easily wide enough to swallow a cycle tyre. This one appears to have been touched up by sprinkling some gravel into the whole. A very ineffective treatment.

Terrible infrastructure on NCN route 11 - there's shared-use footway where it's not needed (and no dropped kerb) and then you're thrown out onto the road where a cycleway to Station Road would actually be useful.
Northbound cyclists have to turn onto the island then wait for a gap in the traffic on the A505 (twice).
Turn left behind the camera for NCN route 11 - there are arrows before and after the junction, but not actually at the turn.
Of course it's more important to have a statutory lawyer's notice about trespass on the busway than a usable sign for the National Cycle Network.
Raised cycleway by about fifteen inches to get a bit above the flood. This path is the only alternative to the busy fast road over a footway-less river and road bridge.
