There are proposals to build a very large ramped bridge across the canal here. Taking up valuable space and costing a lot of money. Could it be like the Dukinfield Lift Bridge on the Peak Forest Canal #47684 It would be a simpler bridge as this would be on a contour canal (there isn't any locks). Also more in keeping with a 250 year old canal !!
