The narrow redetermined shared-use footway of North Hanover Street at the Cowcaddens Road junction. The Cumbernauld to Glasgow cycle route meets the Colleges Cycle Route at the cycle sign.
Glasgow City Council is preparing to install a pedestrian guard rail along the edge of the footway (both the shared-use section and a pedestrians-only section beyond that) but this pedestrian crossing in the foreground does not even have dropped kerbs! The only dropped kerb on the whole section of shared-use footway is at the next crossing, which is a toucan, limiting the points at which cyclists can join and leave the carriageway without bumping the kerb.
