The text on the sign must be the standard approved wording. You see it on all works signs… Even though it is almost always inaccurate or insufficiently clear. Here Skeldergate is open… to the right. Hence the tiny arrow. Likely non-approved but very helpful. But a gap has been left wide enough for people on cycles to use. So, the road ahead, towards the junction with Micklegate and Bridge Street, is not closed to people on cycles: #190585. Or is it not intended for cyclists’ use?
