Moving around Monks Cross on a cycle ought to be easy, intuitive, family- age- disabled-friendly, for example: #184962. It ought to be a destination or a reason to ride for everyone. This location with its 'End of Cycle Route' and nonsensical 'Cyclists Dismount' signs is just one example (see another here: #184963) of why it’s difficult and dangerous to navigate. If you’ve reached here along the off-road segregated cycle path you are now dumped. How do you reach the road​? How do you know it is safe to join it? You can't see behind you to the right to see if there is a motor vehicle approaching... Another route to that road is via the crossing to the right. It’s a toucan. But when you get here there are those signs... How do you reach the road that heads left from this point?
