[Image taken 2.7.22] Bootham, junction with Gillygate – left - looking towards Bootham Bar, York. In March 2020, High Petergate (linking Bootham, the inner ring road behind the camera position) and the non motorised traffic users route round the base of the Minster) was opened to people cycling – in this direction. It saves time but more importantly it takes people out of the air- and noise-pollution of St Leonard’s Place and avoids the unpredictable motor vehicle movements on Duncombe Place. This clear (visible from Bootham, and direction-wise) sign is new – likely put up in June 2022. Other images today: #183817, #183818, #183820, #183821, #183822, #183823.
