[Image taken 29.9.21] Bootham Terrace, York. Ahead is the passageway that links to Queen Anne's Road and is used many pupils at St Peter's School. To the right is the blind corner and steep incline of Bootham Terrace. It is lined by parked vehicles at all times and, as this image shows, gets very narrow at this crossing point. This area is oversubscribed by active travellers and needs a raised table and a complete re-think. The plans need to be sustainable and take account of the additional foot/cycle/scooter/wheelchair traffic from the developments at Bootham Crescent www.yorkpress.co.uk/news/17443970.plan-80-homes-york-city-football-ground-revealed/) and Duncombe Barracks (www.york.gov.uk/housing/housing-delivery-programme-1/3) and other changes - for example if the Park and Pedal (www.itravelyork.info/park-and-ride/cycling-with-park-and-ride) scheme for segregated cycle lanes from Rawcliffe Park and Ride along Shipton Road to Bootham (www.york.gov.uk/ActiveTravelFund) takes off/materialises.
