[Image taken 29.7.21] York. Monroe Close, York. Drivers completely blocking the pavements on both sides. The red car on the left seems to be the same as the one in the streetview image from July 2019. The vehicles obstruct sightlines for all users. How will children learn to walk and to use balance bikes if pavements are used as car parking? (See: #173445) How do they get to school? How can people exercise including with wheeled walkers and in mobility scooters and those with sight issues if we continue to accept and permit public space to be hijacked in this way? On Manor Lane, just 120m away is an off-road cycle-ped route with barriers that make it unusable - my images and captions: #169121, which is also given as a (negative) example in the York Cycle Campaign (yorkcyclecampaign.bike/) report 'Inclusive & Disability Cycling In York' (yorkcyclecampaign.bike/2021/07/21/inclusive-disability-cycling-in-york/). All images today: #172710 and links.
