[Image taken 26.6.21] Navigation Road, York. This taxi driver was blocking access to/from the key motor traffic-free link Navigation Road-Palmer Street through the Hungate development. He was also idling. The corner here is a blind one - from both directions. There is a parent and young child approaching from the direction behind the taxi. They stopped to talk to me - about the hazard the driver constituted. The driver remained in situ. The engine continued to run. This is another instance see also: #170523 where drivers do not recognise/acknowledge routes they cannot access. Stopping here is the equivalent of blocking one road of a junction.

It is part of the city walls (pedestrian) walk. There are extensive shopping and also eating options within around 1km of this point. There is a car park access-exit. This end of street on the side the parent and child are approaching is due to become one-way as part of changes to improve the safety of people moving around actively - on foot, on cycles, on scooters, in wheelchairs...
