[Image taken 1.5.21] Marygate car park, York. This the bottom of the steeper of the two slopes connecting Marygate car park/the riverside/Scarborough Bridge/York. Most people, including those in mobility scooters, use this. Officers at York Council doesn’t seem to understand the need to provide a wide area at the car park level for people to exit from/access the slope, and for people, such as this dog walker, to pass it. The hedge/fence creates a completely blind corner so the area needs to be kept as clear of other users as possible. The position of the walker and her dog show how tight the space (170cm) is here. Is this a temporary width? More images of this issue see: #168007, #168008. See also today: #167996 and links
