[Newer images: #166495, #166496] [Image taken 26.2.21] Queen Street junction with Blossom Street at Micklegate Bar, York. Cyclists have a green filter. (yorkcyclecampaign.bike/2019/07/20/micklegate-bar-lets-keep-it/) In March 2019 City of York declared a climate emergency. Plus, levels of cycling among all parts of the population visibly increased from late March 2020 when the lockdown introduced as a response to the covid-19 pandemic began. However, there is no warning on approach to this junction that people on cycles cannot turn left for the duration of the gas works. There is no diversion provided. This contrasts with recognition of the validity of and importance of cycling as a transport mode at works taking place at the same time at Crichton Avenue, York - see: #164313. (www.york.gov.uk/news/article/442/crichton-avenuewigginton-road-junction-roadworks). Micklegate Bar: #164584, #164585, #164586, #164587
