[Image taken 5.2.21] Monks Cross retail park, Monks Cross, Huntington/York. How was it intended that cyclists using the substantially segregated, red-tarmaced cycle route bridge the gap here? There's space for a parallel crossing on this side of the zebra. Not great to encounter a puddle here where you have to stop. Note the pole at the entrance to/exit from the route. Presumably to prevent motorists turning into it. It is very different to the surrounding poles (compare with: #183020) so is visible. It also has reflective capabilities. If you have to have an obstruction then it must be visible in all weathers and in all levels of light to everyone: the intended users of the route and those it is intended to keep out.
