It's just dark, and of course there are still plenty of cyclists on the streets of Assen, not that any of this lot have bothered with lights.
The point being that there is such a level of safety that people often don't bother with lights, yet the injury rate for cyclists is extremely low.
Here we see an adult overtake two children on a unidirectional cycle path on Groningerstraat - a road which is the same width as Gilbert Road in Cambridge.
